Darien had some random Starbucks winners this morning! Ask your student what he/she is saving up for! Yesterday a couple of third grade boys 'bought' lunch with the Principal! It was the best lunch time I've had in a while!
Today in our Second Step lesson we learned the calm down steps: 1.) Stop- use your signal, 2.) Name your Feeling, & 3.) Calm down : belly-breathe, count, & use positive self-talk. Ask your student if they remember the Calm it down song & dance!
Today we had Sgt. Tom Rich from the New Jersey police department here to talk to our students about being safe when they are online, whether it is on a phone, tablet, or other device. He encouraged every student to speak with their parent about the presentation tonight. Please talk with your child about this wonderful event!

Mr. Kanoff likes hockey, soccer and watching movies. He works at CLC after school too. If he could go anywhere, it would be Disney World. He and his wife also welcomed their first child on Christmas Day! Thanks for all you do, Mr. Kanoff!
